How to Setup Item Barcodes (Item Code) 

     

    Using this article: 

    • If this is the first time you are setting up your Items, please read  this  article first

    • For a more detailed look at using Barcodes, please see below  

     

    This section of the guide will show you how to: 

    • Import Barcodes using the Import Library 

    • Add the Barcode manually through the Item Library 

    • Use Barcode scanning directly from the POS

     

    Import Barcodes using the Import Library  

    1. Navigation

    • Log into the Back Office

    • Navigate to Items > Item Library

    2. Download your Item Library

    • Select: Download and Update > Export Active Records

    3.  Edit your Item Library File

    • In the Export Active Records file, populate each Item in Column P with a unique number representing that item (i.e. UPC Code) 

    • This can be done manually or using a hand-held barcode scanner 

    • Remember to Save changes in .odt format.  




    4. Import the edited Item Library File

    • Log into the Back Office

    • Navigate to Items > Item Library > Download and Update > Import Library > Chose File

    • A file browser window will open.  Locate and select the edited Item Library file on your computer

    • Select: Import

    • Once finished importing, you will see a confirmation screen.  

     

    Add Barcodes Manually through the Item Library

    1. Navigation

    • Log into the Back Office

    • Navigate to Items > Item Library

    • Select: the edit icon (pencil) next to the Item you wish to edit 

     

    • Populate the Item Code field with a unique number representing that item (I.E. UPC Code)



    • When finished, click Save

    • Remember to Sync on your POS to begin using this Item Code

     

    Use Barcode Scanning through the POS

     

    How it works: 

    • Barcodes will use your Item Library to identify the item

    • Items that do not have an Item Code associated will not return a scan result

    1. Navigation

    • On your Point of Sale device, navigate to the Orders (Sale) module 

    • Tap the left arrow to reach the Search screen 

    • Tap the Barcode reader icon

     

    For Register Devices, tap the Search Icon on the left navigation above the Item Categories 

     

    Phone Item Categories

     

    • Scan the item

      Barcode Picture Scanner

     

    • The item will add to the cart

    • Repeat the process to scan additional items

    • When finished, proceed with the checkout process
