Back arrow – Tap on this icon when you need to go back to the previous screen. |

Bar Code Scanner – Tap this icon to open the camera on your device to scan a bar code. |
|
Lock screen – Tap on this icon when you want to lock your screen. When you are ready to use the terminal again, tap the screen and login. |

Sync Now – Tap this button to sync the card reader device with the Ovation App |
|
Orders or Sales – Add items from your library or manually add a line item to the cart, checkout/process payment, and deliver receipts via text, email, or print.
|
|
Quick Sale – Check out even faster by selecting the payment type (Cash, Credit Card, Gift Card, or Invoice) and then entering the full dollar amount to be paid. |
|
History – Review all transaction history including successful payments, canceled transactions, refunds, and more. |
|
Open Refund - Use the open refund transaction to reimburse the customer for a returned item when the original transaction is not in the transaction history. The Open Refund feature is optional. |
|
Items – Add Items to categories, subcategories, and groups to organize your library for an easy checkout process.
|
|
Batch – Close out the transactions and sales activity for a particular shift or period of time. |
|
Invoices – Search for a specific invoice by last name, phone number, or invoice number. Or view multiple invoices by status - due, overdue, completed, or all. |
|
Training - Explore the platform with confidence. Practice taking orders, adding discounts, refunding payments, and closing the register without processing any actual transactions. |
Transactions:
Sale or Order - Credit Card, Cash, and Gift Card

From the home screen, tap Sale or Order - The Sale button display for a retail business. The Order button displays for a restaurant business

Select items from the list to add to the cart or enter the amount for an item
-
If a discount is needed, select the DISCOUNT button at the top right, select discount, then tap the back arrow
-
Review all transaction details on the right side of the screen, then tap CHECKOUT
-
Using the buttons on the left, select the appropriate form of payment -Credit Card, Cash, Debit card, or Gift card. The Order/Sale total will appear on the screen.

Follow the prompts at the bottom of the screen that matches your payment situation to finalize payment
This will look slightly different depending on what form of payment is selected:
- For Credit Cards- Either tap CARD to use the card reader or MANUAL ENTRY to type in the card information - Ask the customer to use their card, and if prompted, to enter their PIN, and then tap enter.

For Cash - Either type in the amount of cash given to see the change due or tap EXACT and then FINISH

For Debit Cards- Either tap CARD to use the card reader or MANUAL ENTRY to type in the card information- Ask the customer to use their card, and if prompted, to enter their PIN, and then tap enter.

For Gift Card - Either tap SCAN to open the device's camera to scan the code or MANUAL ENTRY to type in the gift card number and then FINISH

When the transaction is approved a receipt method prompt displays

Tap the receipt method. For no receipt, tap Complete Order, or Complete Sale
Quick Sale - Card Card, Cash, Gift Card

From the home screen, tap Quick Sale
-
Using the buttons on the left, select the appropriate form of payment -Credit Card, Cash, Debit card, or Gift card

Type in the full dollar amount to be charged
-
Follow the prompts at the bottom of the screen that matches your payment situation to finalize payment

Receipt options will appear - Select the preferred form of receipt and then COMPLETE ORDER
Quick Sale - Invoice

From the home screen, tap Quick Sale

Using the left and right arrows select the appropriate form of payment - Invoice

Type in the full dollar amount to be charged then tap CONTINUE
-
Select either Existing Customer or New Customer
-
If Existing Customer- search by First name, Last name, phone number, or email then tap CONTINUE
-
If New Customer - Enter First name, Last name, Business name, phone number, and email address then tap CONTINUE
-
Select a due date and tap CONTINUE
-
An option to edit the message to the customer will appear. If you would like to change it do so on this page, if you prefer the default “Thank You For Your Business!” then tap CONTINUE
-
The Invoice information will all appear on one screen for you to review, if everything is correct tap on the checkmarks to select how you would like to send the invoice - either Via Text, Via Email, or both

Then tap SEND and the customer will receive a link for the invoice
Reprint Receipts from History

From the home screen, tap History. A list of transactions will be displayed
-
Tap the transaction to reprint. The transaction information will be displayed

Tap RECEIPT

Tap the preferred receipt method(s)
Refund from History
-
From the home screen, tap History. A list of transactions will be displayed
-
Tap the transaction that you would like to refund. The transaction information will be displayed
-
Tap REFUND
-
Select the refund type:
-
To refund the full amount, tap ENTIRE SALE or ENTIRE ORDER then REFUND
-
To refund part of the transaction, tap SELECT ITEMS, select the items, tap CALCULATE REFUND, and then tap REFUND
-
To refund the customer without linking it to a transaction, tap ENTER AMOUNT. Enter the refund amount and then tap REFUND
-
If debit card transaction, tap Yes and then follow the instructions to refund cash to the customer
-
If credit card transaction, tap REFUND
-
The Swipe Card, Insert Card,and Tap Card prompt will displays
-
Ask the customer to use their card, and if prompted, to enter their PIN, and then tap ENTER
When the transaction is approved a receipt method prompt displays -
Tap the receipt method. For no receipt, tap COMPLETE REFUND
Open Refund

From the home screen, tap Open Refund

Tap SELECT ITEMS, to choose options from the library to refund or tap ENTER AMOUNT to type in the amount of money to be refunded

Select items from the list to add to the cart or enter the amount, and then tap REFUND, and then REFUND

Using the buttons on the left, select the appropriate form of payment that was used for the original transaction -Credit Card, Cash, Debit card, or Gift card, then tap REFUND

If you selected credit, debit or gift card - Swipe Card, Insert Card, and Tap Card prompt will display
-
Ask the customer to use their card, and if prompted, to enter their PIN, and then tap ENTER

The transaction processes and if it is approved a receipt method prompt displays

Tap the receipt method. For no receipt, tap COMPLETE REFUND - The transaction displays in the history module as refunded

When the transaction is approved a receipt method prompt displays.

Select customers' preferred form of receipt. For no receipt, tap COMPLETE REFUND
Support Functions:
Items - Add to Inventory

From the home screen, tap ITEMS

To view, add, and edit Items tap MANAGE ITEMS

To view, add, and edit, categories, subcategories, and groups tap ITEM LIBRARY

Tap CREATE ITEM, enter the Item Name and an optional Item Description, mark if the item is available for online ordering, and then tap CONTINUE
-
Enter the Unit Price or select Open Amount - Enter Price at time of use, and then tap CONTINUE
-
Enter the optional items if used, and then tap CONTINUE
-
Item Code (Barcode number).
-
Review the Item Summary, and then tap CONTINUE
-
Choose the position in the item library by selecting the category, subcategories, and groups. Tap PLACE ITEM HERE
-
Review the Item Library Summary, and then tap CONTINUE
-
Choose the screen location by selecting the ITEM SCREEN, and then tap CONTINUE
-
Select the taxes, modifiers, and printers to be associated with the item
-
Review the Summary, and then tap SAVE
-
The item summary will display one more time, if anything is incorrect tap EDIT in the top right and make changes. If all of the information displayed is correct tap DONE
Tip Adjustment
If the tip adjust feature is enabled, an ADJUST TIPS tab displays in the Batch module.

From the home screen, tap Batch

Tap the ADJUST TIPS tab. A list of transactions display

Tap the transaction to add the tip. The transaction information displays

Enter the tip amount, and then tap ADD TIP

Using the buttons on the left select the report you would like to view
Report options are:

TENDER DETAILS: Displays the day’s transactions with the order number, tender type, date, total, and entry method.

TENDER SUMMARY: Displays the day’s transaction total for the Credit, Debit, or Gift tender types.
-
TIPS: Displays the batch overview for filling out deposit slips and general record keeping.
-
USERS: Displays the day’s transactions by a user. It includes subtotals for tenders, transaction types, and tips.

To print the report tap the PRINT button in the top right corner
End of Day

On the application home screen, tap Batch
-
On the end-of-day tab, tap CLOSE REGISTER

The confirm action prompt displays. Tap YES

The next SALE or ORDER automatically begins a new batch
